If you are looking for the easiest way to get to the top of Long Loop, this is it! You will begin at the North River Trail trailhead in Cutler’s Flat and start riding southwest back towards the entrance road to Cutler’s Flat. Take a right before you start leaving the campground area and ride west past the restrooms and head up the road with the gate. You will ride towards a campground and notice a steep, rocky and loose short hill. You will likely need to push your bike up this hill, but once you reach the top you will be at the junction with Cutler’s Twist and Connector. Keep riding south on Connector until you reach the double track road with another gate on your right – this is Cutler Creek. Ride west past the gate and up Cutler Creek until you reach the junction with Bicentennial. Ride up Bicentennial – once you cross the bridge it does get a bit steeper with a few switchbacks, but much easier than riding up Bicentennial from the bottom. You will reach a small meadow with a sign indicating Bicentennial trail, although there is not a marker for Long loop. Look for the trail that goes North from the wooden sign and that is Long Loop.
At the bottom of Long loop you will merge with Bicentennial for a short distance until you reach the junction with Traildemic (straight) and North River Trail (left). Take the left fork onto North River trail and pedal back to the starting point.
